Dashiell one of the best albums of all time. Glitch forever til you die

D33DS I keep coming back to this album when I need to relax because of how well it captures the feeling of a beach resort. Though it's filled with natural sounds and textures, and the presence of the beach is consistent, the fact that this “natural” feeling is all artificial sticks in your head the whole time. Meticulously crafted so you have as much enjoyment as possible without noticing how plastic and fake everything around you is. A resort is artificial fun, and re.sort represents that perfectly. Favorite track: Rayuela (ii).

idontlikemycats perfectly plastic and organic at the same time. the chaos is calming. and that drumset sample is perfect. not sure if it's a reference but pairs well with the Cortazar novel w the same title Favorite track: Rayuela (ii).

Soothing cut-ups and analogue collages for dreamers in the summer breeze.

Originally released in 2003 (on CD only), conceived by Sora aka Takeshi Kurosawa. Re.sort is a miracle of Japanese electronica. Widely unknown but very necessary. Fragments and textures playfully flirt with each other, bossa nova and jazz records float in the air, an old phonograph sits by the sea. Leftfield that feels like a home away, where joyful nothings are everything. Sweet minimalism and micro melodies.

Sora means sky. Let's drift.

The sort of music that is beyond time. The sort of music that you feel more than you hear. I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was. Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
